What is a Ringworm?

Ringworm is not an actual worm; it’s actually a fungal infection. Ringworm can affect different animals including humans, cats, dogs, and more. Ringworm infections occur due to the presence of a group of fungi called dermatophytes in a host’s body. This skin issue got its name because of its appearance on its host’s skin. It looks like a reddish or pinkish ring on the skin.
